Screw Action Tensile Test Grip

Screw Action Tensile Test Grip

ASTM D2208 Grab suitable for plastic, rubber, leather tension test.

Screw side-action grips provide a very simple and efficient method for holding test specimens in a wide range of applications. screw grip is a one-sided closing specimen grip. A lead screw is used to open and close the grips, as well as apply gripping force before the test.

ASTM D2208 Leather Breaking Strength Testing by Grab Method –

ASTM D2208 Standard Test Method for Breaking Strength of Leather by the Grab Method

ASTM D2208 specifies a grab‑type tensile test to measure breaking strength and elongation‑at‑rupture for certain leather types where the conventional strip‑tensile method (ASTM D2209) cannot produce accurate results.

ASTM D2339 Two-Ply Wood Adhesive Shear-by-Tension Loading Test –

ASTM D2339 Standard Test Method for Strength Properties of Adhesives in Two‑Ply Wood Construction in Shear by Tension Loading

ASTM D2339 defines a laboratory test to obtain comparative shear‑strength data for wood‑to‑wood adhesives. It only applies to adhesives bonding wood to wood, using tensile loading to generate shear stress across the adhesive bondline of two‑ply veneer assemblies. Tensile force is applied axially to a notched two‑ply wood specimen. Two saw kerfs are machined precisely to the bondline. Under tension loading, shear stress concentrates on the narrow bonded area between the grooves, causing shear failure along the adhesive joint.  ASTM D2339‑20 Tension Shear Tester for Two‑Ply Wood Adhesive | UnitedTest Manufacturer

ISO 13937-2 Trouser Method Fabric Tear Force Testing –

ISO 13937-2 Textiles – Tear properties of fabrics – Part 2: Determination of tear force of trouser‑shaped test specimens (Single tear method).

ISO 13937-2 is method for determining the tear force required to propagate an already-started single tear, using a rectangular specimen slit into two "trouser legs". Mainly for woven fabrics; may also apply to fabrics made by other techniques (e.g. some nonwovens). Not applicable to knitted fabrics, woven elastic fabrics, highly anisotropic fabrics, or loose fabrics where the tear tends to transfer from one direction to another. Only CRE (constant-rate-of-extension) machines are permitted.

ASTM D2261 Tongue Tear Test for Fabric Tearing Strength –

ASTM D2261 Standard Test Method for Tearing Strength of Fabrics by the Tongue (Single Rip) Procedure (Constant-Rate-of-Extension Tensile Testing Machine)

ASTM D2261 measure fabric tearing strength via the tongue (single‑rip / trouser‑shaped) specimen approach, primarily using a Constant‑Rate‑of‑Extension (CRE) tensile tester, It evaluates the force required to propagate an existing pre‑cut tear rather than the force needed to start a brand‑new tear in intact fabric. Applies to most fabrics: woven, air bag fabrics, blankets, napped, knit, layered, pile and nonwovens — untreated, heavily sized, coated, resin-treated or otherwise treated.
