Smoke Density Tester, Exit Sign Test Apparatus ASTM D2843

The smoke density tester, also name as the Exit Sign Smoke Testing Apparatus, is a specialized device used to determine the static smoke emission of building materials and their products under combustion or decomposition conditions. It evaluates the smoke density grade of materials during combustion by measuring the loss of light flux caused by solid particles in the smoke. This instrument consists of a combustion system, a photodetection system, and a control system. It employs computer or PLC control technology to achieve automated operation, can automatically record test data, generate test reports, and plot cumulative curves of smoke density over time. It complies with the GB/T8627-2007 standard, with a measurement range of 0-100% and a measurement accuracy of ≤3% (absolute value). The combustion gas source is >95% propane, with a main burner operating pressure of 276KPa (adjustable) and an auxiliary burner pressure of 138KPa (adjustable). The diameter of the Bunsen burner nozzle is 0.13mm, and the working tilt angle is 45 degrees.

Its technical parameters cover a smoke density measurement range of 0-100%, with an accuracy of ±3%, and comply with both domestic and international standards such as GB/T 8627-2007 and ASTM D2843.

Main Features:

1. Dual control method allows operation through the touchscreen or via a computer, with the ability to switch between modes at will.

2. One device can be operated by multiple computers simultaneously, enabling several computers to be online at the same time, allowing for LAN sharing.

3. The main and auxiliary burners can automatically rotate with precise positioning.

4. Independently developed control software can meet various operations, recording, real-time curves, and result calculations during experiments.

Working Conditions:

1. Ambient temperature: 0℃-40℃;

2. Relative humidity: ≤85%;

3. Power supply voltage and power: 220V±10%, 50HZ, 100W;

4. Gas pressure: 0-0.3MPa (adjustable);

5. Environmental and testing requirements: Direct strong light should be avoided from shining or reflecting onto the instrument while it is working; after 90 minutes of testing, the gas source should be turned off to cool the instrument for 15 minutes.

6. Ambient airflow: No forced air movement phenomena during operation;

7. The instrument should be placed in a fume hood for testing.

Instrument structure:

Divided into two main parts: 1, the smoke chamber and 2, the control section;

Smoke chamber section: On the left and right side panels of the smoke chamber, there are the power switch, safety symbol switch (backlight switch), gas adjustment device, and also the switch for controlling the exhaust fan (fan switch).
