The impact specimen UV notch projector is a special testing equipment for metal Charpy impact test, which accurately measures the size and shape of the V-shaped (2mm) and U-shaped (2/3/5mm) notches of the impact specimen through the principle of optical amplification, meeting the requirements of GB/T 229, ISO 148 and other standards, and is a key quality inspection equipment to ensure the qualification of the specimen and the accuracy of the test data.
General introduction

The impact specimen UV notch projector is a special testing equipment for metal Charpy impact test, which accurately measures the size and shape of the V-shaped (2mm) and U-shaped (2/3/5mm) notches of the impact specimen through the principle of optical amplification, meeting the requirements of GB/T 229, ISO 148 and other standards, and is a key quality inspection equipment to ensure the qualification of the specimen and the accuracy of the test data.
Key Features
Magnified projection: Magnifies tiny notches by 10–50 times to clearly visualize the outline of the notch and is directly visible to the naked eye.
Precise Measurement: Measures critical dimensions such as notch angle (V-shaped 45°), depth (V-shaped 2mm, U-shaped 2/3/5mm), and bottom radius (U-shaped 1/1.5/2.5mm).
Intuitive judgment: Through the comparison of standard templates on the projection screen, it can quickly determine whether the notch meets the standard, and if it is not qualified, it can be reworked in time.
Digital display assistance: Some models have digital display function, automatic reading, reduce manual error, and improve detection efficiency.
Accuracy measuring:

Principle: The specimen notch is enlarged (common 10×/20×/50×) and projected onto the projection screen, and the size is read by the ruler or digital display system, and the notch angle, depth, radius and other parameters are intuitively detected.
Structure: optical system (light source, objective lens, mirror, projection screen), table (pan/rotate with positioning fixture), measuring system (ruler / digital display), focusing mechanism, base (anti-vibration design).
Detect the dimensional accuracy and shape consistency of the notch of the impact specimen, exclude unqualified specimens, and avoid affecting the impact test results.
It is used in physical and chemical laboratories in metallurgy, steel, boiler pressure vessels, aerospace, machinery manufacturing, scientific research institutes and other fields.
Specimens prepared by manual / electric broaching machines are a necessary quality inspection link before impact testing to ensure that the test data is true and reliable.

Operation Process:
1. Preparation: Place the equipment on a horizontal, shockproof countertop and reliably ground; Turn on the power and warm up for 5–10 minutes to stabilize the light source.
2. Loading: Place 10×10×55mm specimens into the table fixture, positioning and aligning, ensuring that the notch is facing the optical system, clamping and secure.
3. Focus and alignment: Adjust the magnification of the objective lens (usually 20×), turn the focus knob to make the notch outline on the projection screen clear; Move the table so that the center of the notch is aligned with the projection screen reticle.
4. Measurement and comparison: Measure the notch angle, depth, and bottom radius through the projection screen ruler or digital display system; Compare with the standard sample outline to determine whether it is qualified.
5. Recording and pick-up: record the measurement data, mark the qualified specimens and set them aside, and re-broach the unqualified specimens; Loosen the fixture, remove the specimen, and clean the workbench.
6. Power off: Turn off the power, cover the dust cover, and clean the dust on the surface of the projection screen.
Maintenance
weekly: use lens paper to clean optical components such as objectives and mirrors; Check the lubrication of the workbench guide rail, and apply special lubricating oil if necessary; Calibration of rulers or digital display accuracy.
Monthly: fasten the connecting bolts of the equipment to prevent loosening; Check whether the power plug and terminal blocks are in good contact; Clean the dust inside the equipment (after power outage).
Quarterly: Full calibration of measurement accuracy (standard gauge can be used); Check the flatness of the projection screen and adjust it if necessary; Replace the aging light source bulb or fuse.
Long-term deactivation: clean the optical parts and body, cover the dust cover after drying; Remove the light source bulb and store it separately; Regularly turn on the machine to warm up for 10 minutes and take care of the optical system.
Magnification: 10×/20× double gear for conventional detection; The radius at the bottom of the notch needs to be carefully measured, and three levels of 10×/20×/50× should be selected.
Measurement method: Pursue efficient selection of digital display (automatic reading); Budget limited selection manual ruler type (intuitive and convenient).
Specimen type: only the V-shaped notch is selected for special type; Taking into account the V/U-type notch, the general type can be selected (the standard model can be switched).
Laboratory environment: For environments with large vibrations, choose models with anti-vibration bases; Space is limited, and miniaturized design models are selected.

Safety points
Safety points
Avoid looking directly at the light source during operation to prevent strong light from irritating the eyes; It is forbidden to touch optical components such as objectives and mirrors during the operation of the equipment.
The specimen should be clamped firmly to prevent it from shifting during measurement; Move the table gently to avoid collision with the optics.
It is forbidden to wipe the projection screen and lens with hard objects, and it needs to be cleaned with special lens paper; Avoid placing strong magnetic fields and heat sources around the equipment to prevent affecting accuracy.
Regularly check the insulation of the power cord to avoid leakage; If there is abnormal noise or blurred image, stop the machine immediately for inspection.
