ISO 9852 Unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) pipes — Dichloromethane resistance at specified temperature (DCMT) — Test method
ISO 9852 specifies a method for determining the resistance of unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) pipes to dichloromethane at a specified temperature (DCMT). It is applicable to all PVC-U pipes, irrespective of their intended use.
Scope of application
Suitable for any homogeneous flat-walled, unplasticized PVC pipe, regardless of its intended use
It can be used as a means of rapid quality control in the production process
It is especially suitable for quality inspection and performance evaluation of PVC-U pipes
Technical content and testing methods
Core test principles
The ISO 9852 standard specifies a method for determining the resistance of PVC-U pipes to methylene chloride at specified temperatures (DCMT). This method evaluates the plasticization uniformity and internal structural integrity of the pipe specimen by immersing the pipe specimen in methylene chloride solution and observing the degree of damage to the surface of the pipe after impregnation.
Key test parameters:
parameter | Technical requirements: | remark |
Test temperature | T±0.5℃(≥12℃) | Common 15°C, 20°C or 30°C |
Soaking time | 30±1 min | Strict control |
Sample preparation | Choose the chamfer angle according to the wall thickness (10°-30°) | Avoid mechanical heating |
Thickness of the water sealing layer | ≥20mm | Reduces reagent evaporation |
Dichloromethane resistance test Equipment configuration requirements
The test system must include the following key components:
Stainless steel/glass containers: equipped with double grids (dip bit/drip level)
Temperature control system: accuracy ± 0.5°C
Ventilation system: meets methylene chloride vapor threshold limit (TLV 100ppm)
Protective Gear: Includes gloves and goggles
Relationship with GB/T 13526
The Chinese national standard GB/T 13526-2007 "Test Method for Dichloromethane Impregnation of Rigid Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC-U) Pipes" is equivalent to ISO 9852:2007 international standard. The two are highly consistent in terms of technical content, and the main correspondence is as follows:
Specimen specifications: all are 160mm length (100mm for the 1995 version of ISO standard).
Impregnation time: 30 minutes (20 minutes for GB/T 13526-1992).
Judgment method: The qualitative determination of the degree of failure, the percentage of failure of the inclined surface and the percentage of failure in the circumferential direction are calculated
Specimen angle: Determine the inclination angle according to the wall thickness of the pipe
