This machine is primarily used to evaluate the friction and wear performance of specimens such as end faces and pin discs under sliding friction at normal temperature. It can be used to assess the wear resistance of various metals, coatings, engineering plastics, ceramics, and powder metallurgy and other new materials, as well as to determine the abrasion resistance of materials and the compatibility characteristics of material pairs. 

Tests can be conducted under various conditions by changing parameters such as load, speed, time, friction pair material, surface roughness, and hardness. The testing machine has an extended space for friction pairs and can use either end face or pin disc configurations. 

The application of test force is controlled by a closed-loop servo system, ensuring stable and reliable force application. The magnitude of the test force can be set by the operator through the computer interface. Parameters such as the spindle speed, number of rotations, test force, friction torque, friction pair temperature, and test duration are all computer controlled. Test data can be collected in real time, and corresponding test curves can be plotted. Test data and curves can be stored, accessed, or printed at will.

A. It should be capable of evaluating the friction and wear performance as well as abrasive wear performance of samples such as end faces and pin discs under both ambient and high-temperature conditions in the form of sliding friction.

B. It can assess the friction and wear performance of various new materials such as metals, engineering plastics, ceramics, and powder metallurgy, measuring the wear resistance of materials and material matching characteristics. Tests can be conducted under various parameters including varying loads, speeds, friction pairs, and environmental temperatures. Samples can be in the form of end faces or pin discs.

C. The application of test force is controlled by a hydraulic closed-loop servo system, and the magnitude of the test force is set by the operator on the computer interface.

D. Parameters such as spindle speed, number of rotations, test force, friction torque, temperature of the friction pair, and test duration are all controlled by the computer, which can collect test data in real-time and plot corresponding test curves. Test data or curves can be saved, retrieved, and printed at will.

E. Equipped with 10 types of friction pairs in a total of 7 sets for lined surfaces and flat surfaces, maximizing testing options for the user.

ASTM D3702 test method covers the determination of wear rate and coefficient of friction for self-lubricated materials in rubbing contact by a testing machine2 that utilizes a thrust washer specimen configuration. 

This test method is used to determine the equilibrium rate of wear and coefficient of friction of materials in rubbing contact under useful operating conditions, that is, combinations of pressure and velocity that fall below the PV (pressure × velocity) limit of the test material. The user of this test method should determine to his own satisfaction whether the results of this test procedure correlate with field performance or other bench test machines. If the test conditions are changed, the wear rates may change and the relative value of one material with respect to another may also change.
