Recently, UnitedTest Corporation successfully completed the installation of a 630mm large diameter rapid crack propagation testing machine in Russia. This equipment fills a gap in domestic large-sized rapid crack propagation testing machines, and its super-large pipe diameter specification is a first in the country, providing strong support for research and production in related fields.
This rapid crack propagation testing machine is mainly used for the performance testing of thermoplastic pipes that transport gas or liquids, particularly focusing on their critical pressure and critical temperature resistance to rapid crack propagation, which is of significant importance in ensuring the safety of pipes during actual use. It is equipped with an energy storage device that efficiently converts elastic potential energy into kinetic energy, allowing for precise control of the impact speed within the range of 1m/s to 20m/s, meeting various testing needs. Additionally, it features an industrial-grade control terminal and a large-screen color LCD touch screen human-machine interface, making operation convenient and providing real-time data on a variety of test parameters such as low-temperature conditioning time, test operation time, instant pressure in the pipe, impact speed, crack length, and test temperature.

In terms of low-temperature conditioning, the accompanying RCP low-temperature conditioning box is highly capable, able to maintain a constant temperature of -30℃. Its multi-station design allows for simultaneous low-temperature conditioning of multiple samples with different diameters, ensuring efficiency and low usage costs. The high-precision temperature control system can display internal temperature in real-time and automatically monitor and adjust conditions without requiring manual supervision. The box features an independent door with pneumatic opening and closing design, and built-in sample incoming and outgoing tracks for easy sample handling, with minimal temperature fluctuations and high safety. The refrigeration system uses a piston-type refrigeration unit and a highly efficient side-blown air-cooled condenser, achieving high cooling efficiency, reaching -30℃ within 10 minutes.
It is worth mentioning that the sealing fixture designed for this 630mm large diameter testing machine is unique. Its front and rear end caps, limiting rings, and internal pressure reduction baffles are interrelated, allowing for quick installation and high success rates. The end caps use high-quality 304 stainless steel elliptical caps, ensuring structural rigidity while reducing overall mass, equipped with lifting holes for easy transportation. The sealing rings are made of silicone rubber, ensuring good sealing performance even at low temperatures of -30℃.
After the installation was completed, the equipment passed a series of rigorous debugging and trial runs, successfully passing all performance tests.
