Pipe fittings pull out resistance testing machine, Tensile Pull Out Test, pipe fitting tensile test ISO 3501 Plastics piping systems - Mechanical joints between fittings and pressure pipes - Test method for resistance to pull-out under constant longitudinal force


Scope of application

Applicable object: The connection between polyethylene (PE) pressure pipes with a diameter not exceeding 63mm and non fusion welded fittings of different materials or structures (such as mechanical connections, socket connections).


Experimental methods and steps

1. Sample preparation:

Assembled from pipe fittings and 1-2 sections of PE pipes, with each section of pipe length ≥ 300mm.

The number of samples per group is 3 pcs.

2. Measurement parameters:

Measure the maximum and minimum values of the inner and outer diameters of the pipe using a vernier caliper with an accuracy of 0.02mm, and calculate the average value.

3. Calculation of experimental force:

Calculate the required tensile force based on the average inner diameter, outer diameter, and material properties of the pipe (specific formula as specified in standard ISO 3501).

4. Load and hold:

Fix the sample on the tension meter and apply it uniformly to the calculated force value within 30 seconds.

Maintain a constant tension for 1 hour, during which check if the connection is loose.

5. Result:

Qualification criteria: During the pressure holding period, no looseness or separation occurred at the connection of the three specimens.
